The Foothills Crawl Space Team has used the new EZFLOW product several times, the most recent being in Simpsonville, SC. It is a gravel free filter fabric drainage system and works great for crawl space drainage systems. It does not require gravel as it uses poly rock aggregate that stays intact and makes the installation much easier than carrying heavy gravel. The EZFLOW drain system will move water in a crawl space directly into the sump pump. The team dug a trench around the wall and installed the EZFLOW into the trench and covered it slightly with soil and then the drainage matting went on top. They connected the EZFLOW into the sump pump and this takes care of most water issues that might occur.
When using the EZFLOW, take into consideration the type of soil. If it is a clay soil the EZFLOW needs to be left uncovered. With regular soils, you can bury it with a few inches of the soil from the trench that was dug or a combination of soil and secure fasteners called lightning rods. So if you have water issues in your crawl space, call Foothills Crawl Space Team at 1-828-817-5380 and ask about the EZFLOW drainage system.
